I have so much things i need to catch up on and so many ideas, i just need to get my butt moving now. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One of the reasons i haven't been uploading any posts, i haven't been well for a good few months now. Its nothing to do with F.O.P just a general normal thing if you could call it that. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have had stomach problems since i was about 15 years old but it bothered me that much just the odd blip here and there nothing i couldn't handle but over the last few months it got worse to the point where i was lethargic all the time, all i wanted to was sleep. I had nausea constantly (rather than just on the odd occasion) and just generally not feeling myself. When i did have enough energy i just wanted to get out of the house. I have now been referred to a </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">gastroenterologist doctor who i seen last week so i will hopefully be back on track soon. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Reason two is i have been planning and organising an event that is happening later in the year in aid of <a href="https://www.ifopa.org/" target="_blank">F.O.P</a>. Thats has taken up most of my time this year especially the last two weeks. I'm pretty excited about it, its going to take a lot of hard work and time to pull it off but i love a challenge. It is still early days but i will write another blog post in detail all about it later to keep you all up to date with that. </span></div>

I also need to get back into the kitchen, last sunday was the first time i had really done any cooking or baking this year and that is not like me at all as i live in the kitchen. I spent the sunday perfecting my brownie and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, perfecting means i totally changed both recipes almost completely but its all about experimenting and trying out different things sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.</span></div>

You receive 4 different bars per month, each bar comes with a tasting card that give you a little insight into each bar of chocolate.</span><br />

<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Slice 5 of your lemons in half and cut a cross shape into each half 3/4 the way down. Make sure the lemon is still intacted. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Juice the remaining 6 lemons and set aside. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Fill each lemon half with a teaspoon of salt and gently squeeze shut. Place each one into the jar. </span></li>

<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Using your weapon of choice toast the packet of large marshmallow until really melty on all sides. Turf them into your blender. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Next add in the milk and slightly softened icecream. Nows the time to make sure the blender lid is throughly in place before blitzing.. Just trust me on that one. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Once the milkshake in smooth turn off the blender, remove the glasses from the freezer and pour half of the creamy marshmallowy goodness into each glass. </span></li>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">It has to be one of the simplest recipes ever invented i have to say and it would make a lovely accompaniment in a blackberry ice pop or raspberry prosecco cocktails. </span><br>

<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Pour the sugar and water into a heavy based sauce pan over medium heat. (Little trick: Pour your water in first as the sugar will dissolve into the water.)</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Sterilise your jar or bottle in boiling water. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Swirling the sugar mixture every so often until the sugar has dissolved, now add in 2-3 teaspoons of the petals. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Bring the syrup to a boil for 3-5 minute or until slightly thickened.</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">You may need to sieve the syrup before decanting into the warm jar. I added in 1 extra teaspoon of petals into the jar just to make it look pretty but its totally upto you. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;"> </span></li>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">I never been one to use a thermometer only when it's came to sugar but wow this thing has changed my mind big time. The thermapen is a digital thermometer all you need to do is insert the probe into what ever your cooking and within 3 seconds you will know if its just right or needs a little bit longer. The other great thing about the <a href="http://thermapen.co.uk/" target="_blank">thermapen</a> is it temperature range of -49.9c to 299.9c. Of course I couldn't make the decision on what colour to get so I went to my fail safe colour Black!</span><br>

Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn until soft set. Now its time to prepare the strawberries and lay them out In a roasting dish sprinkle over the chipotle and icing sugar, the place into the oven for 10 minutes. In the vessel of your choice begin to layer the frozen yogurt and strawberries together. For World Baking Day I decided I would bake something I've never made before inspired by there Bake Brave hashtag.<br />

I first tasted this delicious cake in Valvona and Crolla a few years back during a trip to the other (Edin-) burgh. We stopped for lunch at there restaurant beside Harvey Nichols then we spotted their concession in Jenners department store and has to stop for a quick fly cup. Along with my usual double shot Americano I had to have a slice of their Orange Semolina Cake. </div>

I've made a few minor adjustments since I first baked the cake and its best made the day before to give the flavours time to settle and intensify. </div>

Makes - 10inch Cake </div>

Ingredients:</div>

Cake:</div>
<div>
2 oranges, flesh and zest peeled into strips only </div>
<div>
185ml Olive Oil, fruity notes</div>
<div>
5 Eggs</div>
<div>
250grams Semolina </div>
<div>
4teaspoons Baking Powder </div>
<div>
80grams Almonds, chopped or flaked </div>
<div>

Syrup:</div>
<div>
125grams Caster Sugar </div>
<div>
Juice of 1/4 lemon </div>
<div>
1 teaspoon Zest, Orange or Lemon </div>
<div>
185ml Water </div>
<div>

Method: </div>
<div>

<div>
Boil the orange peel in water for 40minutes or until the peel has softened, this may take longer or shorter depending. </div>
<div>
Preheat the oven to 180c/350f/gas 4. Prepare the cake tin by greasing and lining with baking paper. </div>
<div>
In a pan over medium heat pour in the syrup ingredients and stir continuously until the sugar has dissolved. Bring the syrup to the boil for 7 minutes and set aside. </div>
<div>
Remove the softened peel from the pan and remove any pips from the orange flesh, put everything into a food processor and blitz until a smooth pulp has formed. </div>
<div>
Pour the pulp into a large mixing bowl and stir in the oil, sugar and eggs using a wooden spoon. Now whisk the mixture until it has lightened in colour. </div>
<div>
Fold in the semolina, baking powder and almonds until everything is completely incorporated. Pour the orange batter into the prepared cake tin and place in the oven for 30-40 minutes. </div>
<div>
Once the cake is newly out the oven(still in the pan) you can either just pour the syrup evenly over the top and leave to absorb or do it the traditional way by cutting the cake into diamonds and then pouring over syrup leaving it to absorb before serving. </div>

While the processor is running pour in the water and egg yolk until the pastry starts to form a ball, once the pastry gets to this stage turn out onto your work surface. </span></div>

Mixing gently to combined all the ingredients. Place the saucepan over a medium low heat keeping an eye and stirring every so often until the berry juice has thicken. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">On a well floured surface roll out your pastry in a roundish circle (makes things a lot easier) making sure to turn as your go. If your making individual pies divide the pastry into 6 equal bits. </span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Gently lift the circle of pastry into the pin and making sure to press the pastry into the sides and base of tin. Once your happy prick the bottom on the pastry with a fork and place in the fridge to rest for 20-30 minutes. </span></div>

My bad I tend to eat a whole Loafie too myself.. Thank goodness for my high metoblism or I would be screwed. </div><div><br></div><div>Banana bread has to be one of the easiest things to make, you can't go far wrong with it as it is pretty full proof. Great for using up the brownish over ripe bananas and all pretty quick to whip up too. </div><div><br></div><div>All you need is 5 ingredients.. It's that simple and prefect for the kids too help. </div><div><br></div><div>I prefer to do this by hand.. Good for the arms. </div><div><br></div><div>Makes: 2 loafs</div><div><br></div><div>Ingredients: </div><div><br></div><div>6oz Butter, unsalted </div><div>6oz Self Raising Flour, sifted </div><div>6oz Caster Sugar </div><div>3 eggs </div><div>3-4 bananas, mushed up </div><div>1/2 teaspoon ground Cinnamon </div><div>1/4 teaspoon ground Nutmeg </div><div><br></div><div>1 prepared Loaf Tin, either lined or well buttered and floured. </div><div><br></div><div>Method: </div><div><br></div><div>1) preheat the oven to 180c. </div><div>2) Cream the butter and sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. </div><div>3) In another bowl whisk the eggs together before combining with the butter mixture. To stop the mixture from separating add in 2-3tablespoons of the flour into the bowl </div><div>4) Once the eggs have been incorporated fold in the flour, just before the flours fully incorporated add in the bananas. </div><div>5) Divide the mixture into the prepared tins and bake for 30-35minutes. We made this on a whim so I never had the chance to make up the passion fruit purée or pick up some passion fruit liquor but not to worry I have substitutes. <br />
<br />
It's actually very quick and easy to mix up, especially if you don't have a shaker on hand. <br />
<br />
What girl doesn't love cocktails.. Especially when they remind you of SATC. <br />
<br />
All you need is... Oh I should say this make up one but you can double, triple well how ever much you need really. You may need to tweak it here & there but that's pretty simple. <br />

1 Martini Glasses<br />
25ml of Vodka <br />
30ml of Passoa <br />
Splash of Passion Fruit Liquor (you don't need it) <br />
30ml of passion fruit purée (orange&mango juice) <br />
2 teaspoon of Vanilla Sugar. <br />
Splash or two of apple juice <br />

Now for the pista resistance serve with a Champagne Chaser!! <br />

Stir or shake until the sugars dissolved and rim your glass with vanilla sugar before pouring into the glass. <br />
<br />
Vanilla sugar holds a special place in my heart as my grandmas (great) also kept a Kilner of her homemade vanilla sugar in her pantry and its one of my favourites. It's also pretty simple to make and keep for months & months. <br />
<br />
All you need to do is fill a airtight container or jar with caster sugar and depending on the size depends on how many vanilla pods you need. <br />
<br />
I would personally use 2 for a smallish jar. <br />
Split the vanilla pods and scrap out the seeds, and mix the seeds into the sugar before adding in the vanilla pods. Seal the container and leave for a few weeks to develop in flavour. Instead of throwing out your used vanilla pods dry them and pop them into the jar the more the better. <br />

Line the brownie tin with butter and cocoa powder. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Meanwhile measure out the sugar in a large bowl, once the butter and chocolate has melted pour over the sugar a stir until combined. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Measure out the flour and mix the eggs into the sugar mixture with 2 tablespoons of flour to stop the mixture from curdling. This prevents the eggs from sinking to the bottom or floating to the top of the baked cupcake. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Mix together the cake mixture, see the box for instructions.</span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Using an ice cream scoop,pour 1 scoop full of cake mix into each liner. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Pop one egg into the middle of each egg, keeping a note of which egg is in each. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Place the pan into the oven for 20-25 minutes or until baked. Pop a cake tester into the middle of the cupcake wait 20 seconds and pull out if its clean the cupcakes are ready. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Place the cupcakes onto a wired cooling rack and leave to cool completely. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Meanwhile mix up 1 batch of buttercream and split into two separate bowls. In bowl 1 mix in one teaspoon of vanilla extract or 1/2 of vanilla bean paste. <li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">In a heavy based saucepan mix together the currant,raisins,cornflour and all spice. Pour in the sugar and water place the pan on a medium heat for 5 minutes or until thick and syrupy. Stir the mix every so often and keeping an eye on the mixture. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Once the currant mixture is thick remove from the heat, spoon into a bowl and leave to cool completely. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Preheat the oven to 180/190c. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">When the mixture is completely cooled, line a swiss roll tin with 1 roll of pastry. Spoon the mix on top of the pasty and even out leaving 1/2cm around the sides. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Lay the 2nd roll of pastry over and pinching down on the bottom layer. Remove any excess pastry before pricking with a fork. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Brush over with milk/egg wash before sprinkling with caster sugar. Place the fruit slice into the oven for 20-25 minutes. Leave to cool before slicing into squares. </span></li>

<li style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">In a large casserole on a medium-low heat cook the lardons in 1 tablespoon of olive oil until crispy and the fat is rendered. Once crispy remove using a slotted spoon into a small bowl. </span></li>
<li style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Turn the heat up to a medium-high heat pouring a little more olive oil into the casserole. In small batches brown off the beef on all sides. Remove the beef onto a side plate. </span></li>
<li style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Saute off the carrots and celery in the bacony,riby goodness with a little butter. Once softened remove using a slotted spoon into the bacon. </span></li>
<li style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Drain off the remaining fat from the casserole then place back onto the heat. Add in the bacon, veggies and short ribs back in tossing throughly with salt, pepper and flour.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Place the casserole into the oven uncovered for about 5 minutes. Toss throughly again before returning to the oven again for about 5 minutes. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Lower the oven to temperature 180c..</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Return the casserole to the hob on a medium heat. Pour in half-3/4 of wine and cook off for 5 minutes before adding in the stock. Add in the tomato paste and herbs the bring everything to a simmer. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Put the lid onto the casserole and place in the oven for 4-5 hours. Stirring every so often. </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Once the beef is soft/falling apart when forked remove from the oven.</span></li>

Remove the vanilla pod and gently pour the cream over the egg mixture, whisking constantly. Return the custard to the pan and stir over a low-medium heat until it comes up to a gentle boil. Continue to cook, whisking constantly until the mixture has thickened.</span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Remove from the heat and pour into a bowl. If the mixtures goes lumpy durning cooking,remove from the heat and whisk well. If the creme pat is still lumpy after cooking pass the mixture through a sieve. </span></li><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Courier New', Courier, monospace;">Cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming.
